Leading the BBC Music department, James is responsible for joining the BBC’s Music content across television, radio and online. Launched in October 2014, BBC Music is the BBC’s biggest commitment to music in a generation – with a host of new content, initiatives and events including Adele at the BBC, BBC Music at Glastobury, the annual BBC Music Day and the BBC Music Awards on BBC One.  His vusual commissions have include the Mercury Prize, Oasis in their Own Words, Lift Music and James Bay: Like A Rolling Stone.

James’ previous roles include leading the UK’s biggest digital radio station, BBC Radio 6 Music and as an Executive Producer for both ABC in Sydney and at Europe’s biggest radio station, BBC Radio 2. He has also worked within the BBC’s renowned Music television department.
